About the project
The idea behind the Gospel of Thomas website was to create a platform that allowed the owner, Martin, to communicate thoughts and ideas on Thomas's Gospel.
There were two simple points in the project brief. Simplicity and ease of use. This was in relation to both the customer facing website design and the content management system.
As this was a new and evolving project, Martin required a degree of flexability with the Content Management System, so rather than try and shoe horn it into an existing off the shelf CMS we decided that the right path to take was to use my in-house Content Management System which we further developed for Martin during the build phase.
Once the CMS was in a position to fulfil the needs of the project, a simple but effective front end design was created to interface with the CMS. Martin is able to add new pages, edit existing content, manage media items, control what he shows on his navigation, manage slide shows, image galleries and much more. There is also scope to add e-commerce functionality down the line.
