Every website depends on a secure and available server, and keeping it that way requires ongoing attention to the smallest detail. Software is patched as vulnerabilities are disclosed, and data is backed up to two different remote locations for safekeeping. Should the hardware fail, a recovery plan is already in place. A Care Plan covers all this, and more. The new Core and Complete Care Plans are built on the same managed, dedicated infrastructure, intentionally designed to provide you with the best up-time, security, backups and disaster recovery support. The difference between them lies in how much day-to-day support is included.

Core looks after the server itself, so hardware faults, connection failures and security incidents are resolved without you needing to be involved. Any other support is charged at the hourly rate.

Payment and terms
Care Plans are paid by Direct Debit, or by SEPA Direct Debit if your account is in euros. You will always receive notice before a collection is made. If you pay monthly, the collection is taken on the same date each month. If you choose a fixed term of 3, 6 or 12 months, it is collected once, at the start of the term.
If you choose a fixed term and find within the first 14 days that it is not right for you, let me know and I will refund the term, less the days already used and any work already carried out. This applies to your first term rather than to a renewal. Monthly plans are not included, because they can already be stopped at the end of any month.
Fixed terms are offered at a lower price in return for the commitment, so they cannot be refunded part way through. If you would rather keep that flexibility, a monthly plan can be stopped at the end of any month.
Once you have chosen a 3, 6 or 12 month term, your price is fixed for the whole of that term. When the plan renews, the price will be the rate current at that time, and prices may rise each year in line with inflation.
Backups are taken every night and kept for 7 days, so if something needs to be recovered there is a full week of restore points to choose from.
Every issue is dealt with as promptly as possible, and response times are treated as targets rather than guarantees. Disaster recovery is the exception. If the hardware fails, restoring your website is a firm commitment on both plans.
There is nothing to lock you in. When you decide to move on, whether at the end of a fixed term or at the end of any month on a monthly plan, I will provide a full cPanel and site backup at no charge, ready to hand to your new host.
