Genuine question.

Why do real businesses, with incredible locations and products, feel the need to use AI generated images rather than just picking up a camera. What's the obsession prioritising fake over something real?
Ian Sheldon
'Move fast, capture attention, let somebody else clean up.' We have seen this time and again in the tech industry, and yet no lessons appear to have been learned.

We are seeing the same pattern, and the same mistakes, with AI. This time backed by more money than we can begin to imagine, and this time what gets captured is labour. Replacing human workers is not an unfortunate side effect. It is the product, and it is the explicit pitch behind the trillion-dollar valuations and the data centre buildouts. The environmental cost of running it all is barely being counted.

There is another path, one where AI stays a tool under meaningful human control rather than a replacement for the people using it, and it only happens if enough people ask for it. The Pro-Human AI Declaration sets out what that looks like.

Stop The Race to Replace Stop the Race to Replace Humans A remarkable coalition is united: stop the billionaire race to replace humanity with AI. If you agree, add your name.

Server issues

This morning (10 September 2026) there were intermittent outages affecting web site services. The cause was an attack on a domain that is not managed by me. The issue has been resolved and all services are back to normal.

Resolving server-based problems that affect your website and email is included in the Core care plan.

Hosting is becoming Care Plans!

To better reflect the actual service that's provided with hosting, I am introducing two new care plans that incorporate things like hosting, server side security and support, off-site backups and disaster recovery. The complete plan also includes account level support for things like email and configuration issues.
